Seasons HOT

When we look at the weather now we find ourselves complaining about things being too hot.  I wonder if you think back a few months were you complaining about it being too cold?  Many of us are so inclined to be complaining about whatever the situation is right now always thinking there is some better condition, time, place or general circumstances.  My students over the last three years would probably have told you that it will be better when they get done with high school and get out of Mom and Dad’s house. 

How do we become so unhappy with what is going on right now that we have to be complaining.  If we would realize the amazing things that God has gone through for everyone of us.  He has prepared everything on earth so that we could survive and he has even been spending the last 2000 years building our mansions in heaven.  If God created a “perfect” earth in only 6 days how amazing will heaven be if he is spending 2000+ years to get it exactly right.  He gives us this much and we complain when someone asks you to give one hour a week.  It would be a catastrophe to give 4 hours a week (2 Sunday Morning, 1 Sunday night and 1 Wednesday night).  How many times do we jump and goto a movie for 2-3 hours or goto watch a sporting event for 2-4 hours without thinking about it.  But, going to church requires us to plan for 2-3 weeks ahead.  The spirit of God is available and we ignore him as being something we need to be ready for and have to take time to undergo a personal change of seasons.  However, God is ready to make the change in you if you will just look to him for the power he has for us.

In one of our Crosswalk course we were discussing the power of the Holy Spirit and all the things He can do for us.  But, as I sit here thinking about the temperatures of our hearts and the power the Holy Spirit brings with Him into our lives… if we are at 98.6 before God (just living our own lfe) how hot would we be if the POWER was measured on a temperature scale.  I would speculate that God would easily blow the top off any thermometer you tried to use to measure the temperature power.  Why do we freak out when we see people with the power and they are excited about sharing the spirit with people around them.  I have seen people complain because the spiritual people are trying to tell them what to do.  How about the fellow believers that seem putoff by the fact that someone is excited about God’s love and message and the Spirit is flowing through them to a point of being unstoppable.  In Jesus’ time the power multiplied the church why do we not use the power that is here for the church to multiply exponentially.

Look into your heart… are you simmering or are you on fire??  Are you going to be discouraged or will you unleash the power of the Holy Spirit on the earth through your life and actions?!  I have seen the world from different angles over the last 5 years and have seen the good, bad and ugly, but I am still confident that God has his plan ready to be fulfilled when He is ready for us to join Him in heaven.  Are you ready or will you be LEFT BEHIND?  Don’t be left and don’t forget to show His love to others.
